"Whether we can or we can't remains to be seen. It's a discussion. It's a very interesting discussion," Wynn told the Review-Journal. "We've had meetings… The question is, can we give it the kind of spectacle that Las Vegas wants? We like the movie. We'd like to reinvent Spider-Man like the movie."
Wynn reinforced that a Vegas production would involve another reworking of the musical, which is scheduled to close on Broadway Jan. 4, 2014.
As previously reported, following Spider-Man's Jan. 4 Broadway close, the musical has plans to fly into Las Vegas.
Spider-Man began previews Nov. 28, 2010, and officially opened June 14, 2011. The production was known for having the longest preview period of all time. The musical features a book by Julie Taymor, Glen Berger and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and music and lyrics by Bono and The Edge.
Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark currently stars Robert Cuccioli (Jekyll & Hyde) as Norman Osborn/Green Goblin, Justin Matthew Sargent as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Rebecca Faulkenberry as Mary Jane Watson and Jason Gotay as Peter Parker/Spider-Man Alternate.
