Ute Lemper, who starred in both the London and Broadway productions of Chicago, plays a limited engagement at 54 Below beginning Jan. 8.
Lemper's shows are scheduled for Jan. 8 at 9:30 PM, Jan. 11 at 8 PM, Jan. 13 at 7 PM and 9:30 PM and Jan. 14 at 9 PM.
The evenings, according to press notes, start "in Berlin with Ute’s repertoire of Brecht and Weill and classic cabaret songs and travels to the poetic universe of Jacques Brel & Edith Piaf. Then, join Ute’s voyage as she continues to Argentina and Tango Nuevo and walks the backstreets of Paris, Berlin, Buenos Aires and New York, where she’s made her home for fifteen years now. Discover musical ghosts who have their own tales of loss, love, passion, survival, rebellion & opposition to tell."
Ute Lemper made her Broadway debut in the revival of Kander and Ebb's Chicago, and she is known throughout the world for her unique solo concerts that feature an eclectic array of material. She was named Billboard Crossover Artist of 1993-94, and her theatre credits feature roles in Peter Pan, Cabaret and Blue Angel.
