The Gallery Players will present A Little Night Music, with performances beginning Jan. 25 and continuing through Feb. 16 in Brooklyn.

Based on the Ingmar Bergman film "Smiles of a Summer Night," Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's Tony-winning musical will be directed by Tom Rowan and feature music direction by Max Grossman.

A Little Night Music will feature Rita Rehn (Nine) as Desiree Armfeldt, Judith Roberts (Present Laughter) as Madame Armfeldt, Rob Langeder as Count Carl-Magnus Malcom and Richard Rowan as Frederik Egerman.

The cast also includes Kiley Caughey, Faylotte Joy Crayton, Maximus DeFrancesco, John Alden Hooper, Samantha Jeffreys, Barrie Kreinik, Melanie Long, Morgan Patton, Josh Powell, Kate Semmens, Emily Stokes, Robbie Torres, Scott Vicari and Brooke L. Williams.

"Night Music features the most iconic traits of Sondheim’s repertoire, boasting a complex score riddled with hilarious wit," press notes state. "A delicate dream of a musical, the sentimental comedy follows a trio of mismatched lovers as they twist, turn, and tumble toward their true love."

The creative team includes choreographer Elyse Daye Hart, set designer Chris Minard, costume designer Heather Carey, lighting designer Andrew Lu, sound designer Jacob Subotnick, properties designer Sara Slagle and production stage manager Robert Mills.

The GalleryTalks talkback event "From Bergman to Broadway – A Little Night Music and the History of Screen-to-Stage" featuring guest scholar Maya Cantu will follow the Jan. 26 performance.
