Teale was most recently seen in the West End in Passion Play opposite Zoë Wanamaker. Other credits in London include Creditors at the Donmar Warehouse, Ivanov at the National Theatre and Dance of Death in the West End.
The cast will also include Kai Owen, Steven Meo, Brendan Charles, Ifan Huw-Dafydd, Richard Elin-Salt, Charlotte Gray, Sara Harris-Davis, Sophie Melville, Caryl Morgan, Simon Nehan and Christian Patterson. The production is directed by Terry Hands, with designs by Martyn Bainbridge.
The production marks the centenary of Dylan Thomas’ birth, as well as the 60th anniversary since Under Milk Wood was first produced in Britain, as a radio play by the BBC, in 1954. Set in Llareggub, a small Welsh town by the sea, the characters include blind Captain Cat, Mog Edwards and his sweetheart Miss Price, Sinbad Sailor, Dai Bread, Polly Garter, Nogood Boyo and Lord Cut Glass. Thomas explores their lives, hopes and thoughts in the dreams of a night and the rhythm of a day.
