Tony Award nominee Alec Baldwin, who recently declared he was leaving public life behind in a New York Magazine cover story, will guest star as a controversial New York newspaper columnist in an upcoming episode of NBC's "Law & Order: SVU," according to Deadline.com.
In the episode, slated to air March 19, Katie Couric will play herself — a TV show host — and interview Baldwin's character, a controversial New York newspaper columnist named Jimmy MacArthur, about a hate crime/rape case.
Mariska Hargitay will direct the episode.
Baldwin, a Tony Award nominee for A Streetcar Named Desire, has been seen in Loot, Serious Money, Twentieth Century and Orphans. Click here to read about Baldwin's time in Orphans and his clash with actor Shia LaBeouf, who was dismissed from the production.
