Directed by Justin Chadwick, David Milch's pilot focused on wealth and corruption among America's elite. The show followed American mogul and patriarch James Castman, played by Brendan Gleeson ("Troy," "Gangs of New York"), who runs a media empire.
The cast also included Tony nominee Billy Magnussen (Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, "Into the Woods"), Morgan Spector (Machinal, Harvey), Patrick Kennedy ("Downton Abbey," "Boardwalk Empire"), Dominique McElligott ("Hell on Wheels," "The Guard"), Laila Robins (Heartbreak House, Frozen), Ray Liotta (Match, "Goodfellas"), John Carroll Lynch ("House of Lies," "Do No Harm"), Tony winner Rosemary Harris (The Road to Mecca, The Royal Family) and Mamie Gummer (Les Liaisons Dangereuses, "The Good Wife").
Lane played Gordon McCarren, a reporter for VistaCorp’s New York Herald, whose job security is precarious.
Lane received Emmy nominations for both drama and comedy for his recurring roles on "The Good Wife" and "Modern Family."
