Two-time Academy Award winner Kevin Spacey will release "Now: In The Wings On A World Stage," a new documentary film about his experience playing Richard III for the Bridge Project.

The Bridge Project, a three-year transatlantic venture between the Brooklyn Academy of Music, The Old Vic and Neal Street Productions, launched in 2009 with the double bill of The Winter's Tale and The Cherry Orchard. The 2010 component included As You Like It and The Tempest.

The final installment, presented in the U.S. in 2012, featured Spacey ("American Beauty," "The Usual Suspects") taking on the leading role in Shakespeare's Richard III under the direction of Sam Mendes.

Spacey will self-distribute the 90-minute film, which takes its title from the first lines of Richard III, "Now is the winter of our discontent." It can be pre-ordered now at KevinSpacey.com.

"I have quietly been working on this 90 minute film over the last few years, which chronicles my latest collaboration with Sam Mendes; a stage production of Shakespeare's Richard III. It had been more than a decade since we worked together on 'American Beauty.' Sam and I decided that this theatre production would tour to 12 cities around the world with him directing me as the tyrannical Richard III," Spacey said on his website.

He continued, "This film is an insider look back stage at the experience of being an actor in a company; going to rehearsal every day, beginning to create a role with your director, crew and fellow actors and spending a year together on the road in many different cultures and countries forming a company."
