PHOTO CALL: Mamma Mia! Surpasses Rent as Ninth Longest-Running Show in Broadway History; New Cast Members Welcomed

The New York production of Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus' international hit musical Mamma Mia!, which currently plays the Broadhurst Theatre, became the ninth longest-running show in Broadway history March 6.



That record was previously held by Jonathan Larson's Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Rent.

Last month Alan Campbell stepped into the role of Sam Carmichael, with former Mamma Mia! cast member John Hemphill assuming the role of Bill Austin and Paul DeBoy making his Broadway debut as Harry Bright. Ensemble cast member Elena Ricardo assumed the leading role of Sophie Sheridan with Jon Jorgenson making his Broadway debut as Sophie’s fiancé Sky.

Judy McLane, Felicia Finley and Lauren Cohn continue in their respective roles as Donna Sheridan, Tanya and Rosie. The cast also features Jacob Pinion as Pepper, Thomasina E. Gross as Lisa, Traci Victoria as Ali and Albert Guerzon as Eddie.

Now celebrating 13 years on Broadway, Mamma Mia! has been seen by over 50 million people worldwide and has grossed more than $2 billion at the box office.

With music and lyrics by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, Mamma Mia! is written by Catherine Johnson and directed by Phyllida Lloyd. The production has choreography by Anthony Van Laast, production design by Mark Thompson, lighting design by Howard Harrison, sound design by Andrew Bruce and Bobby Aitken, and musical supervision, additional material and arrangements by Martin Koch.

Show times at the Broadhurst are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 PM and Sunday at 7 PM with matinees Saturday and Sunday at 2 PM.
