The new production of Oh What a Lovely War — currently running at Theatre Royal, Stratford East through March 15 where its entire run sold out shortly before its Feb. 10 opening — is to receive an audio broadcast by BBC Radio 2 March 14 beginning at 8 PM London time.
The production was staged by Terry Johnson, marking both the 50th anniversary of the original production (also seen at Stratford East) and the 100th anniversary of the First World War. It is built upon the songs that ordinary British soldiers sang during a war that killed ten million in four years.
The production has also been nominated for the 2014 Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in an Affiliate Theatre.
You're invited to spend an evening filled with personal tales of difficult choices, bad breaks, worse men and some of the most glorious songs ever written. It's an intimate evening, up close with a legend.
So pull up a chair and order up a drink. Because she's got a life to sing. Tickets as low as $85!
