The Off-Broadway musicals Here Lies Love, Fun Home and Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812, as well as new plays by Joshua Harmon, Will Eno and Bruce Norris are among the nominees for the 29th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards, which were announced April 1 by the Off-Broadway League.

The immersive musicals Here Lies Love and Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 broke records, leading with 11 nominations each. They were followed by the ambitious new musical Fun Home, which garnered nine nominations. Additional productions to take multiple nominations include The Public Theater revival of Good Person of Szechwan (5), Roundabout Theatre Company's Bad Jews (4), MCC Theater's Hand to God (4), Signature Theatre's The Open House (4) and the New York Theatre Workshop's Burt Bacharach musical What's It All About (4).

Special honors were also announced to Tony Award-winning producer Robyn Goodman (Lifetime Achievement Award) and Tony Award-winning playwright Richard Nelson (Playwrights' Sidewalk Inductee).

The Off-Broadway League, which presents the Lortel Awards, previously announced the addition of four acting categories, which will now separately honor actors and actresses in the respective play and musical categories. Previously, the nominees in the Outstanding Lead Actor/Actress and Outstanding Featured Actor/Actress categories comprised performers from both plays and musicals.
