The American premiere of London Wall, playing at the Mint Theater Company, will be filmed for future broadcast on Channel 13.
Performances of John Van Druten's romantic drama, which received a Lucille Lortel Award nomination for Best Revival, will continue through April 26, marking the third extension of the production. London Wall had originally been scheduled to run through March 30.
London Wall opened Feb. 24 following previews that began Feb. 1.
"[The play] explores the tumultuous lives and love affairs of the women employed as shorthand typists in a busy solicitor’s office in 1930’s London," press notes state. "Pat Milligan, a naïve young typist, falls for the charms of a predatory junior lawyer. Watching with concern is the firm’s senior secretary, her too-timid suitor and several others in the office. Presiding over all is Mr. Walker, gamely trying to navigate a new kind of office where men and women must work side by side."
London Wall premiered in May 1931 at the Duke of York's Theatre in London. The recent revival of London Wall, which began performances at Finborough Theatre Jan. 29, 2013, marked the first London production of Van Druten's play in 82 years.
London-based Master Media Productions is also making a film of the play, which has been in the works for the past year and will feature some actors from last spring's London production.
