Pivot, the start-up cable network backed by Participant Media, will launch a ten-episode series entitled "Freestyle Love Supreme" that is based on the improv show and hip-hop crew of the same name featuring Tony Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda, according to Variety.
Created by Thomas Kail and Anthony Veneziale, "Freestyle Love Supreme" will be produced by Ars Nova with executive producers Kail, Veneziale, Jon Steingart and Jill Furman.
Additionally, the network will add the first scripted drama, "Fortitude," to its schedule. Twelve 60-minute episodes — written by executive producer Simon Donald — will feature Stanley Tucci, Michael Gambon, Sienna Guillory and Luke Treadaway.
The series, focusing on a close-knit Arctic town that is shaken by a violent crime, is produced by Sky and Pivot Original. Patrick Spence and Frith Tiplady are the executive producers for Fifty Fathoms and Tiger Aspect.
