Earlier this year, it played a West End run at the Noel Coward Theatre, but the run was abruptly curtailed after just over a month, as reported here at the time. It was originally due to run for 16 weeks.
The 32-week tour will begin performances at Manchester's Opera House Sept. 11 prior to an official opening Sept. 15. It will then visit Glasgow, Dunfermline, Cambridge, Liverpool, Newcastle, Oxford, Northampton, Plymouth, Wolverhampton, Norwich, Brighton, Milton Keynes, Swansea, Woking, Bradford, Nottingham, Sunderland, Leicester, Tunbridge Wells, Llandudno, Ipswich, Aberdeen, High Wycombe, Bistol, Dartford and Carlisle, before ending at Sheffield's Lyceum Theatre, where it originally premiered.
The cast will be led by Gary Lucy as Gaz, with Andrew Dunn as Gerald, Louis Emerick as Horse, Martin Miller as Dave, Bobby Schofield as Lomper and Rupert Hill as Guy.
Originally directed by Daniel Evans, this new production is being directed by Roger Haines, who previously directed the world premiere of The Go-Between and the national tour of Calendar Girls. It is designed by Rob Jones, with choreography by Ian West, lighting by Tim Lutkin, sound by Ben and Max Ringham, and casting by Sarah Bird.
