Vineyard Theatre will present Portrait of an Artist, an evening with Tony Award winner Linda Lavin and her husband Steve Bakunas, June 16 at 7 PM.

The event will benefit the company's productions, artistic development initiatives and arts education programs.

Here's how the event is billed: "Portrait of an Artist features Ms. Lavin and Mr. Bakunas in a 90-minute intimate evening during which Ms. Lavin answers questions about her life and career, posed by her husband while he paints her portrait on stage. An evening of warmth, romance, humor and nostalgia, the couple has previously performed the program at venues around the country."

Lavin is currently starring in Too Much Sun at the Vineyard Theatre. She received a Tony Award for her performance in Broadway Bound, and she has also been nominated for Last of the Red Hot Lovers, The Diary of Anne Frank, The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, Collected Stories and The Lyons. Her TV work includes "Sean Saves the World," "The O.C." and "Alice."

Bakunas is a painter, actor and jazz drummer. "Faces and Places," an exhibition of his multi-media art, opened at Trent and Company May 8. His finished portrait of Lavin will be raffled off by The Vineyard at the conclusion of the June 16 event.
