Previews will begin Oct. 21 prior to an official opening Nov. 11 at MTC at New York City Center – Stage I. Daniel Sullivan will direct.
"The lakeside rental Veronica (Tracie Thoms) has managed to afford is a far cry from the idyllic getaway she and her children so desperately need," press notes state. "And the disheveled property owner, Hogan (John Hakwes), has problems of his own – problems that Veronica is inevitably and irrevocably – pulled into. An engrossing and revealing portrait of two strangers bound together by circumstance, Lost Lake is a vivid new work about the struggle for connection in an imperfect world."
Hawkes has performed in In the West and Greater Tuna. He wrote and performed the solo play Nimrod Soul at the Theatre at the Improv and appeared in New York in The 24 Hour Plays. His screen work includes "The Sessions," "Winter's Bone," "Lincoln" and "Martha Marcy May Marlene."
Thoms has performed onstage in Rent, Drowning Crow, Stick Fly and The Exonerated. Her film work includes "Rent," "Looper" and "Safe House," and she has appeared in the TV shows "Cold Case," "Veep" and "The Good Wife."
Tony and Pulitzer Prize winner Auburn's plays include The Columnist, The New York Idea, An Upset and Amateurs, The Journals of Mihail Sebastian and Proof. His film work includes "The Girl in the Park" and "The Lake House."
Additional cast and creative team will be announced at a later date.
