The Tony Awards Administration Committee met June 11 for the final time this season to determine new eligibility rules for the 2014-15 season, affecting Best Revival of a Play and Musical and the Tony Award for Sound Design of a Play or Musical.

The changes made in the meeting of the committee today are as follows:

"The committee determined that authors of plays and musicals that have not been previously produced on Broadway, but at the committee's determination are part of the popular repertoire, will be included in the Best Revival of a Play/Musical categories along with their producers.

Also, the Best Sound Design of a Play and Best Sound Design of a Musical will be eliminated from the competitive categories in the 2014-2015 season; however, the Tony committee holds the right to determine a special Tony award for certain productions that have excelled in this particular design realm."
