Two-time Tony Award nominee Alan Rickman, known for his portrayal of Severus Snape in the "Harry Potter" film franchise, will receive the 2014 Francois Truffaut Award July 23 at the 2014 Giffoni Experience, Festival director Claudio Gubitosi announced.
Also scheduled to attend the Giffoni Film Festival, which will run July 18-27 in Giffoni Valley Piana, Italy, are film star Richard Gere, Matt Bomer ("The Normal Heart"), Lea Michele (Spring Awakening, "Glee") and Dylan O'Brian ("Teen Wolf").
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Michele, Bomer and O'Brian will hold onstage master classes with more than 3,500 jurors (between the ages of 3 and 25) coming to Giffoni from 52 nations.
The Giffoni Film Festival began in 1971 from Claudio Gubitosi's idea: to promote and develop cinema for young people. The jury at the festival is exclusively made up of young people.
