Held in memory of the one-year anniversary of the tragic shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School, Eric Ulloa's new play 26 Pebbles will be given a private industry reading Dec. 13 at Playwrights Horizons Studios at 2 PM.

Directed by Ulloa, the cast includes Ann Arvia (Mary Poppins), Ruth Gottschall (Mary Poppins), Mark Hardy (Titanic), Dena Kology, Mamie Parris (Goodspeed's The Most Happy Fella, Ragtime) and Greg Roderick (South Pacific). Danny Lindgren will be featured on guitar.

Ulloa completed more than 50 interviews with residents of Newtown, CT, including shop owners, parents of students and town workers who were touched by the tragedy.

Several townspeople, who are portrayed in the play, will be in attendance.

"Horrible things happen every day in our country, but there was something about this tragedy that grabbed a hold of me and wouldn't let go," Ulloa said in a statement. "It seemed that there was never a moment for the people of this community to grieve or to just talk out what they were feeling. I traveled to Newtown in May just wanting to hear stories and to give people a chance to unload what they've been carrying with them, and what I discovered was that their stories are lessons that we all need to be learning from. I am honored to be the one to use their words to create an evening of powerful theatre."

Ulloa has performed at the Barrington Stage Company, North Shore Music Theatre, Signature Theatre, Arvada Center, Fulton Opera House, Human Race Theatre Company and Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma. He is also the librettist of Molly Sweeney and The Boardwalk Boys.
