Toasting set designer extraordinaire Tony Walton at the Bay Street Theatre Jan. 21 were news anchor Diane Sawyer, Nathan Lane, who starred in the Walton-designed Guys and Dolls, theatre dance legend Tommy Tune and director Scott Ellis.
Walton won three Tony Awards over his thirty year career - for Pippin, The Hosue of Blue Leaves and Guys and Dolls. He's been nominated for numerous other shows including the original Chicago, Anything Goes, Lend Me a Tenor, She Loves Me, Grand Hotel and Steel Pier.
