LaPaglia and Sarandon Are New Cast in WTC-Themed The Guys, Feb. 18-March 14

Anthony LaPaglia and Susan Sarandon will star in an extension of The Guys, Anne Nelson's new, timely play about a fire chief grappling with loss following the World Trade Center disaster, Feb. 18-March 14, at the Flea Theater in downtown Manhattan.
Anthony LaPaglia and Susan Sarandon will star in an extension of The Guys, Anne Nelson's new, timely play about a fire chief grappling with loss following the World Trade Center disaster, Feb. 18-March 14, at the Flea Theater in downtown Manhattan. Bill Irwin and Sigourney Weaver continue in the play to Feb 9, and the new cast begins Feb. 18, according to the show's website. Performances are 7 PM Monday-Thursday. LaPaglia is a Tony Award-winner for 1998's A View From the Bridge, and Sarandon won the Academy Award for "Dead Man Walking." This world premiere play was commissioned by the Flea Theater in response to the events of Sept. 11. The Guys is a dialogue between a fire captain who has lost most of his men in the Sept. 11 attack, and an editor who helps him write the eulogies as she struggles herself to come to terms with the event. Jim Simpson directs. Bill Murray and Weaver starred in the initial performances, Jan. 17-26. Irwin joined Jan. 29. Costumes are by Claudia Brown, set and lights are by Kyle Chepulis. Producing Director is Carol Ostrow, associate producer is Erik Sniedze. The Flea is at 41 White Street in Tribeca. Tickets are $55. Limited $15 tickets for fireman and Port Authority workers with ID.
