67th Annual Tony Awards Will Be Held June 9 at Radio City; Eligibility Cut-Off Date Set
18 Mar 2013
The American Theatre Wing's 67th Annual Tony Awards will be held June 9 and will air on CBS at 8 PM ET, live from the Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The awards ceremony returns to Radio City following a two-year hiatus.
The awards show, which honors theatre professionals for distinguished achievement on Broadway, has been broadcast on CBS since 1978. For the last two years, the Tonys were held at the Beacon Theatre, while Radio City housed the Cirque du Soleil show Zarkana.
The official eligibility cut-off date will be April 25 for all Broadway productions opening in the 2012-13 season. The nominations for the 2013 Tonys will be announced live from New York City on April 30.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
