Michael Mayer, Harriet Harris and Simon Callow are among the guests on the May 3 airing of "Theatre Talk," the acclaimed PBS talk show that features interviews with top theatre celebrities.

Mayer, who directed the new musical Thoroughly Modern Millie, and Harris — who stars in that musical — will discuss the creation of Millie and its journey to Broadway's Marquis Theatre. Based on the film that starred Julie Andrews, Carol Channing and Mary Tyler Moore, Thoroughly Modern Millie concerns the journey of a young woman (newcomer Sutton Foster) who arrives in New York City and ends up living in an apartment house run by the evil Mrs. Meers (Harris).

Simon Callow, who stars in The Mystery of Charles Dickens, will discuss the life and times of the celebrated Victorian novelist. In his one-man show at the Belasco Theatre, Callow portrays the author as well as 40 of his characters.

Hosted by New York Post theatre columnist Michael Riedel and producer Susan Haskins, "Theatre Talk" airs Friday nights at 12:30 AM on WNET/Thirteen. The program also runs Sunday mornings at 10 AM on WGBH in Boston.
