Alan Bates has won the 2002 Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play. A list of all the nominees follows:

Jeffrey Wright, Topdog/Underdog
Mr. Wright also received a Drama Desk nomination for his performance as Lincoln. He last played Broadway in Bring in 'Da Noise, Bring in 'Da Funk. Other stage work: Angels in America (Tony, Drama Desk, OCC Awards); NYSF: Julius Caesar and King Lear. He earned an AFI Award for his portrayal of Martin Luther King, Jr. in HBO's "Boycott." Film: Ali, Basquiat, Ang Lee's Ride with the Devil, and Shaft. TV: "Separate but Equal" and "Angels in America."
