Chicago Casting Directors Offer Casting Master Class, Oct. 26 & Nov. 17

03 Oct 2002

The Broadway musical Chicago — in association with Students Live — will present an exclusive casting master class on Saturday, Oct. 26 and again on Sunday, Nov. 17.

The Broadway musical Chicago — in association with Students Live — will present an exclusive casting master class on Saturday, Oct. 26 and again on Sunday, Nov. 17.

Casting director Howie Cherpakov and Jay Binder Casting will hold a two-hour symposium that focuses on auditioning for the musical theatre. Beginning at 11 AM, the morning will include advice from the casting directors, cast and creative team of Chicago as well as a question-and-answer session with members of the theatre industry. Those attending will also take part in a mock audition, which will feature a basic dance routine, a scene from Chicago and 16 musical bars of their own repertoire.

After the class, attendees will be treated to a matinee of Chicago, which plays Broadway's Shubert Theatre. Tickets for the entire day — symposium and matinee — are priced at $45. Those interested should call the Education Hotline at (212) 479-7327 or (212) 575-1044, ext. 303.

Students Live's mission it to "supplement a failing arts education curriculum and to re-inspire young people to discover Broadway." For more information, visit www.studentslive.org.
