Blue Man Group To Release New Album Featuring Dave Matthews, April 22

Rock groups have prompted stage shows such as The Who's Tommy and ABBA's Mamma Mia!, so why not a theatre group releasing a rock album?
Blue Man Group is working the reverse, signing a recording contract with Lava Records.
The anonymous blue-skinned trio, whose production, Tubes, is still running in downtown New York City have proved a viable musical talent. The group was featured in the 2001 Grammy Awards in artist Moby's performance with songstress Jill Scott. Their debut Grammy-nominated album "Audio " has gone Gold. Blue Man Group also joined Moby, David Bowie, Busta Rhymes and other bands for last year's "Area: 2" summer tour. (The trio is also featured in television commercials for Pentium.)
Their next album, "The Complex," is set to be released April 22. Blue Man Group founders Matt Goldman, Phil Stanton and Chris Wink are featured on the album performing collaborations with Dave Matthews, Tracy Bonham, Dan the Automator, Esthero and Josh Haden among others. The album will include their chilling tribute to the events of Sept. 11, 2001, "Exhibit 13."
Lava Records features music acts such as Kid Rock, Uncle Kracker, Willa Ford and the Trans Siberian Orchestra.
