Open Dance Call for Canadian Producers Held April 14 in Toronto

Casting for the Canadian production of The Producers, the new Mel Brooks musical, began in February 2003 and continues April 14 with an open dance call for Equity and non-Equity members.
The call, for male and female dancers in their 20s and 30s who sing and have jazz, tap and ballet training, is at the Maddison Dance and Theatre Studios in Toronto. Some female ensemble members may understudy, according to the announcement, which adds, "be prepared to tell a joke."
The Canadian premiere engagement of The Producers, which won multiple Tony Awards in 2001, begins performances in Toronto Nov. 18 at the Canon Theatre.
