Nominations for the 2003 John Kraaijkamp Musical Awards—the Dutch equivalent of New York's Tony Awards—were announced, with familiar American titles such as The Sound of Music, Fosse and She Loves Me in the running.

Leading the tally are The Sound of Music and 3 Musketiers with seven nods apiece. The latter is a home grown musical produced by Dutch theatre magnate Joop van den Ende and directed by Paul Eenens. The two men are also responsible for the Rodgers and Hammerstein revival. All 13 nominated musicals are currently playing in the Netherlands. The awards will be handed out during a May 12 gala at the RAI Congrescentre in Amsterdam. More information can be found on the Dutch language web-site www.stichtingmusicalawards.nl.
