Broadway's Take Me Out isn't the only diamond on the stage as San Diego's Old Globe presents the baseball comedy Rounding Third, June 1-July 13. The production, which opens June 11, plays the Cassius Carter Centre Stage.
David Petrarca directs Tom McGowan (Chicago, Ivanoff, La Bete) and Jeffrey Hutchinson (Sin, Dinah Was, Harvey) in the two-hander. The design team features Robin Sanford Roberts (scenic), David Cuthbert (lighting), Lewis Brown (costume) and Ron Milburn (sound).
The play, which is expected to make its New York premiere this year, received a staged reading with George Wendt and Mark McKinney in January 2002 then premiered later in the year at Northlight Theatre in Skokie, Illinois with Wendt and Matthew Arkin.
