25 Jun 2003

Three-time Tony nominee Dee Hoty will return to Broadway in the fall.

Hoty will replace the Tony-nominated Louise Pitre in the role of Donna in the Broadway company of Mamma Mia!. As reported on Playbill On-Line, Pitre will play her final performance in the hit ABBA musical Oct. 19.

Hoty, who has been playing the lead role in the musical's national tour, is scheduled to begin performances at the Winter Garden Theatre Oct. 22.

Dee Hoty received Tony nominations for her performances in Footloose, Best Little Whorehouse Goes Public and The Will Rogers Follies. She was nominated for an Outer Critics Circle Award for her work in City of Angels, and her other Broadway credits include Me and My Girl, Big River, The Five O'Clock Girl and Shakespeare's Cabaret. Off Broadway Hoty appeared in Personals, Vanities and Forbidden Broadway, and she portrayed Phyllis in the Paper Mill production of Follies.

Mamma Mia! plays the Winter Garden Theatre, which is located in New York City at 1634 Broadway. For tickets, call (212) 239-6262. Mamma Mia! is on the web at http://www.mamma mia.com.
