Wooley's agent confirmed to Playbill On-Line that the actor-singer is now in negotiations to star as the voice of the man (and woman)-eating plant in the Broadway debut of the famed Alan Menken-Howard Ashman musical.
The musical is scheduled to begin previews at the Virginia Theatre Aug. 29 with an official opening set for Oct. 2. As of press time, there has been no official casting announcement for the Menken-Ashman musical, although Kerry Butler and Rob Bartlett have been offered the roles of, respectively, Audrey and Mr. Mushnik.
