Michael Barrymore Bows Out of London Show

Michael Barrymore has pulled out of his show — Michael Barrymore Live! On Stage — at Wyndham's Theatre.
Barrymore announced that he could not face going on stage Sept. 18 and has pulled out of the rest of the run. It is believed he will now be going on holiday.
Barrymore's attempted showbiz comeback flopped when critics pounded his show — Charles Spencer of the Telegraph wrote that it was like watching a car crash. In a statement, Barrymore said, "Firstly I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely apologise to everyone who has bought tickets but the pressure of the last two years has taken its toll. I would like to thank my fans, friends and Alcoholics Anonymous who have all helped me to remain sober and given me great support and care."
The show's producer, Steven Berrick, added: "Michael Barrymore has had to withdraw for personal reasons, which we support and understand. We want to assure fans that all money will be refunded. We wish Michael all the best for the future."
