Ramin Karimloo, who has previously appeared in Les Misérables and Sunset Boulevard, is to make his West End debut in a leading role as Raoul, the young aristocrat with whom Christine falls in love — to the fury of the Phantom.
Some of the other cast changes that will be made on Oct. 6 include Judith Gardner Jones as Carlotta and Heather Jackson as Madame Giry. John Owen Jones will continue to star as the Phantom.
The Phantom of the Opera has been playing at Her Majesty's Theatre since Oct. 9, 1986. It is also currently playing in New York, Madrid, Stuttgart, Copenhagen and on tour in the United States.
