Anne Heche (Proof), Adam Arkin (I Hate Hamlet) and John Pankow (Barbra's Wedding) star in the David Rambo radio adaptation of the Ruth Gordon-Garson Kanin screenplay, "Adam’s Rib" at Los Angeles Theatre Works, Oct. 8-12.

Gordon Hunt directs the live performances of the work at the Skirball Cultural Center which will be recorded for future radio broadcast. Also in the cast are Marvin Kaplan and Mary Pat Gleason.

"Adam's Rib" follows the story of two happily married lawyers who find themselves opposing each other on the same big-time case. The ultimate battle of the sexes makes for comical antics in the courtroom and at home.

The upcoming nine-play season will also include Noel Coward's Design for Living (Nov. 5-9), a new translation of Sophocles' Oedipus the King by Nicholas Rudall (Dec. 11-13), Dr. Carl Djerassi's An Immaculate Misconception (Jan. 7-11, 2004), the West Coast premiere of Stephen Adly Guirgis' Off-Broadway hit Our Lady of 121st Street(Feb. 4-8, 2004), Hugh Whitemore's Pack of Lies (March 3-7, 2004), Lanford Wilson's The Fifth of July (April 14-18, 2004) and Athol Fugard's Master Harold... and the boys (May 12-16, 2004). The ninth play, set to run June 16-20, is yet to be decided.

Swoosie Kurtz (Imaginary Friends) will play the ill-fated matriarch in Oedipus the King. Hector Elizondo, Elizabeth Peña, Herbert Siguenza and Eric Stoltz are among the cast of Our Lady of 121st Street. Robert Sean Leonard, who recently starred in the Off-Broadway revival of Lanford Wilson’s Fifth of July will revisit the play for Los Angeles audiences.

L.A.T.W.'s nationally syndicated radio show "The Play's The Thing" series is performed live at the Skirball Cultural Center. All performances are recorded for future broadcast to cities including Boston, Chicago, Seattle, Santa Fe as well as on XM Satellite radio. The two-hour radio broadcasts include special backstage features and interviews with actors, playwrights, and directors.

For tickets to any of "The Play's The Thing" series productions at the Skirball Cultural Center, 2701 N. Sepulveda Boulevard, in L.A., CA, call the L.A. Theatre Works' Box Office at (310) 827-0889. For more information, visit www.latw.org.
