The baseball drama, touching on multiple personal and national themes, welcomes Myk Watford as bigoted ballplayer Shane Mungitt (replacing Frederick Weller) and Maximillian Alexander as Rodriguez (replacing Gene Gabriel). Weller and Gabriel left the show Nov. 2.
Tony Award nominee Daniel Sunjata, who plays the brash ballplayer who comes out of the closet in the drama, will leave the lauded play Jan. 4, 2004.

Alexander's credits include productions of A Midsummer Night's Dream and Alice in Wonderland (for STCC), films "Firehouse," "Firehouse II," "Hairless," "Vatos" and TV's "Protagonistas de Novela," "Off Centre," "All My Children."
Greenberg's play about the incident-packed season of a Yankees-like ball team won the 2003 Tony for Best Play, plus Tonys for Best Direction (Joe Mantello) and Best Featured Actor in a Play (Denis O'Hare).
Performances continue at the Walter Kerr Theatre.

Greenberg's The Violet Hour opens Nov. 6 at the Biltmore Theatre as a presentation of Manhattan Theatre Club.
