Caroline, or Change, a new musical with book and lyrics by Pulitzer, Tony, and Obie Award-winning Playwright Tony Kushner, music by Tony Award-winner Jeanine Tesori, and directed by the Public Theatre's Artistic Director George C. Wolfe, is now in previews at the Public's Newman Theatre for a Nov. 30 opening.

The world-premiere production of the musical, set in 1963 Louisiana, about a black maid and the friendship she develops with the son of the Jewish family she works for stars Tony-winners Tonya Pinkins and Chuck Cooper. The production features sets by Riccardo Hernandez, costumes by Paul Tazewell, lighting by Jules Fisher & Peggy Eisenhauer, and sound by Jon Weston.
