A spokesperson for the production confirmed that Nagarajan will portray Priya and Narayan will be Akaash when Bombay Dreams arrives at the Broadway Theatre in spring 2004. The musical — set in Bollywood and featuring a score by A R Rahman and Don Black — will begin previews March 29 with an official opening set for April 29.
Singer-actress Anisha Nagarajan is also a composer. She and lyricist Michael Mitnick wrote the children's musical Eleven. Manu Narayan was seen on an episode of "Law & Order: SVU."
Tony-winning book writer Thomas (The Producers, Hairspray) Meehan is collaborating with Meera Syal on a new book for the Broadway version of Bombay Dreams. Direction will be by Steven Pimlott (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat) and choreography by Anthony Van Laast and Farah Khan. The production is designed by Mark Thompson with lighting by Hugh Vanstone and sound design by Mick Potter.
