Butler, Bogardus, Foa and More to Star in The Opposite of Sex Musical Workshop

Barrett Foa will take part in the upcoming workshop of the new musical The Opposite of Sex.
According to Foa's official website, the musical based on the hit independent film will be workshopped this month. Foa will play Randy Cates in the reading, which will also feature the talents of Kerry Butler, Stephen Bogardus, Ana Gasteyer, Jeff McCarthy, Matthew Morrison and Keith Nobbs. Beauty and the Beast's Robert Jess Roth will direct the musical, which features music and lyrics by Douglas J. Cohen and a book by Roth and Cohen based on Don Roos' screenplay.
Barrett Foa, who made his Broadway debut in Mamma Mia!, recently took part in the all-star Children of Eden benefit concert. His other theatrical credits include Godspell and Just So. Foa is a graduate of the University of Michigan's Musical Theatre Department.
Written and directed by Don Roos, the 1998 film "The Opposite of Sex" starred Christina Ricci, Martin Donovan, Lisa Kudrow, Lyle Lovett, Johnny Galecki and William Lee Scott. The comedy concerned a 16-year-old girl who visits her gay half-brother and wreaks havoc on his and his friends' lives.
