Tony Award winners Bebe Neuwirth and Roger Rees will join The Collegiate Chorale for An Evening of Kurt Weill Feb. 4, 2004 at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall.

The one-night-only event will feature The Collegiate Chorale Singers conducted by Robert Bass. The program will include excerpts from three of Weill's shows: Lost in the Stars, Marie Galante and Happy End. Soloists Neuwirth and Rees will perform with the chorale's singers; show time is 8 PM.

In a statement music director Robert Bass said, "Kurt Weill's broad range of styles makes him a composer ideally suited to The Collegiate Chorale's mission of exploring the full spectrum of the vocal arts. This eclectic blend of traditional, cabaret and Broadway selections is a new direction not only for myself, but also for Roger and Bebe, and I am excited to lead The Collegiate Chorale on this journey." Rees will serve as narrator, director and soloist; Neuwirth will perform in French and English.

Bebe Neuwirth received Tony Awards for her performances in the revivals of Sweet Charity and Chicago. Her other Broadway credits include roles in A Chorus Line, Little Me, Dancin', Damn Yankees and Fosse. Known around the world for her Emmy Award-winning role as Lilith on the NBC series "Cheers," Neuwirth has also been seen on screen in "Summer of Sam," "Celebrity," "Liberty Heights," "The Associate," "Jumanji," "Bugsy," "The Paint Job," "Getting to Know You" and "Wild Palms."

Roger Rees received a Tony Award for his work in The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby; he was also nominated for his performance in Indiscretions. He was most recently on the New York stage in A Man of No Importance, and his other theatre credits include Uncle Vanya, The Rehearsal, The End of the Day, The Uneasy Chair and The Misanthrope. An associate artist of the Royal Shakespeare Company, his work there includes Hamlet, Love's Labours Lost, Cymbeline, Much Ado About Nothing, The Suicide and Nicholas Nickleby. His film and television appearances are numerous.

Tickets for An Evening of Kurt Weill are priced $25, $35 and $50; for reservations call (917) 322-2140 or visit www.collegiatechorale.org.
