Marcus D'Amico — the "Tales of the City" star who made his Broadway debut in An Inspector Calls — will join the West End company of Mamma Mia! Feb. 9.

D'Amico will be the latest actor to play Sam Carmichael in the ABBA hit at the Prince Edward Theatre. That day will also see the arrival of Vivien Parry as Donna Sheridan, Dean Stobbart as Sky, Lara Mulcahy as Rosie, Robert Hands as Harry Bright, Dale Rapley as Bill Austin, Kieran Jay as Pepper, Louise Raven as Ali and Kelly Price as Lisa. Alexandra Jay (Sophie Sheridan), Kim Ismay (Tanya) and Jamie Wilkin (Eddie) will continue in their current roles.

The hit musical, which celebrates its fifth London birthday April 6, will continue to play the Prince Edward through May 22. It will then reopen at the Prince of Wales on May 27. The latter theatre is currently undergoing at £7 million restoration.

The London production of Mamma Mia! is now booking through March 5, 2005. Tickets, priced £20-£49, are available by calling 0870 850 0393 or 0870 380 8000. The musical plays Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30 PM, Fridays at 5 PM and 8:30 PM and Saturdays at 3 PM and 7:30 PM.
