The script of the new Broadway play I Am My Own Wife will reach bookstores next month.

On February 9 Faber and Faber, Inc. will release Doug Wright's play I Am My Own Wife. The 80-page tome features an essay by Wright, full text of the play, a biography of the playwright as well as a photo of Charlotte von Mahlsdorf — the play's subject — as a child. Von Mahlsdorf was a transvestite and celebrated antiques dealer who survived the Nazi and the Communist regimes.

Wright dedicates his script to "my four very dedicated 'wives': Jefferson Mays, John Marks, Jeffrey Schneider and Moisés Kaufman. Mays stars in the one-man Broadway production; Marks, a writer, introduced von Mahlsdorf's story to the playwright; Schneider attended and translated all of Wright's meetings with von Mahlsdorf; and Kaufman directed the play.

The "I Am My Own Wife" script has a list price of $13. The play continues at the Lyceum Theatre, 149 West 45th Street.
