"The Lion King 1 1/2," an interquel to the hit film "The Lion King," is scheduled to hit stores Feb. 10.
"Lion King 11/2" boasts an eclectic mix of new and old songs. According to a list released by Buena Vista, the song titles include "Diggah Tunnah," "Grazin' in the Grass," "That's All I Need," "Nants' Ingonyama," "Circle of Life," "Father's Footsteps," "I Just Can't Wait to Be King," "Be Prepared," "It's a Small World," "Hakuna Matata," "The Lion Sleeps Tonight," "Jungle Boogie," "The Good, The Bad and the Ugly," "Sunrise Sunset," "Can You Feel the Love Tonight," "Peter Gunn Theme," "Homeward Bound," "Sabre Dance," "Hawaiian War Chant" and "Simba and Nala Move In."
The original 1994 "Lion King" film won Academy Awards for Best Music (Original Score) and Best Music (Song) for "Can You Feel the Love Tonight." A Broadway musical based on the motion picture opened at Broadway's New Amsterdam Theatre Nov. 13, 1997. Directed by Julie Taymor — who became the first woman ever to receive a Tony Award for Best Director of a Musical — the musical has become an international hit with productions playing all around the globe.
