Theatre Folk Brown, Thompson and Sedaris Guest on NBC Comedy "Ed," Jan. 23

Stage stars Blair Brown (Copenhagen), Lea Thompson (Cabaraet) and Amy Sedaris (Wonders of the World) will appear on the NBC hour-long comedy "Ed," Jan. 23. The episode also featuring Burt Reynolds and Clay Aiken airs at 9 PM (ET). Check your local listings.

In the episode "Pressure Points," bowling alley lawyer Ed (recent Urinetown star Tom Cavanagh) deals with his new bride-to-be while his ex-wife (Thompson) is around. Reynolds and Brown play the newly-split parents of Ed's best friend and Sedaris takes on the role of a radio station boss. "American Idol" runner-up Aiken plays himself.

Rent's Marcy Harriell has a recurring role on the Stuckeyville-set comedy filmed locally in northern New Jersey. Past guest stars have also included Take Me Out' s Daniel Sunjata, Rent's Taye Diggs, Jane Eyre's James Barbour, Amour's Melissa Errico (originally Ed's ex-wife), The Wild Party's Julia Murney, Seussical's Kevin Chamberlain, Into the Woods' Gregg Edelman, Noises Off's Richard Easton, Man of La Mancha's Ernie Sabella, Oklahoma!'s Shuler Hensley and Copenhagen's Philip Bosco.

"Ed" airs Friday nights at 9PM (ET). The sitcom is produced by NBC Studios in association with Viacom Productions and Worldwide Pants, Inc — who also produce “Late Show with David Letterman” where the show's creators are Rob Burnett and Jon Beckerman are from. The executive producers are Burnett, Beckerman and David Letterman.
