The new musical Johnny Guitar, based on the 1954 Nicholas Ray film starring Sterling Hayden, opened Off-Broadway at the Century Center for the Performing Arts March 23.

At left, Johnny Guitar himself Steve Blanchard and original Annie Andrea McArdle, as well as Christine Andreas and Robert Evan celebrate the opening at Link restaurant on East 15th Street in New York City. Below, Ed Sala and book writer Nicholas van Hoogstraten do some celebrating of their own.

Johnny Guitar is directed by Joel Higgins, with choreography by Jane Lanier, sets by Van Santfoord, costumes by Kaye Voyce, lights by En McCarthy, and sound by Laura Grace. The show has music by Martin Silvestri and Joel Higgins, lyrics by Higgins, and a book by Nicholas van Hoogstraten.
