Caroline, or Change Star Guests on "Theater Talk" June 11

Tonya Pinkins, who stars in the title role of Caroline, or Change, will guest on the June 11 broadcast of "Theater Talk," the PBS chat show that offers interviews with top theatre celebrities and writers.

Pinkins, who was nominated this season for her performance as an African-American maid in 1960's Louisiana, will discuss her role in the Tony Kushner-Jeanine Tesori musical as well as her work teaching other actors. Caroline, or Change plays the Eugene O'Neill Theatre, 230 W. 49th Street.

The broadcast will also feature a discussion of the recent Tony Awards. Among those discussing the surprise victory of Avenue Q — as Best Musical — will be theatre writers Michael Musto and Patrick Pacheco.

Tonya Pinkins, a recent Tony nominee for her performance in Caroline, or Change, received her Tony Award for her performance in Jelly's Last Jam. Her other Broadway credits include Merrily We Roll Along, Chronicle of a Death Foretold, Play On! (Tony nomination) and The Wild Party. She starred in the City Center Encores! mounting of Harold Arlen's House of Flowers, and she is currently reprising her role as Livia Frye Cudahy on the ABC serial "All My Children."

Hosted by New York Post theatre columnist Riedel and producer Haskins, "Theatre Talk" airs late Friday nights at midnight on WNET/Thirteen.
