By Andrew Gans
20 Jul 2004

Stage stars Ruthie Henshall and Tom Howar are expecting their second child at the end of the year.

The actress' official website confirms that Henshall and Howar are currently anticipating a sibling for their first child, Lily, who is now 16 months old. Henshall and Howar also plan to marry this September.

Ruthie Henshall made her professional debut in A Chorus Line, and her other West End credits include Cats, Miss Saigon, Les Misérables, Oliver!, Crazy for You, She Loves Me, Peggy Sue Got Married and Chicago. She received Olivier Award nominations for her work in Crazy for You and Chicago, and she nabbed the Olivier for her performance in She Loves Me. In New York, Henshall was seen in Chicago, Putting It Together and the City Center Encores! Staging of Ziegfeld Follies of 1936. Her solo albums are entitled "Pilgrim," "The Ruthie Henshall Album" and "Love Is Here to Stay."

Tim Howar is one of Canada's leading male performers. He played the title role in The Who's Tommy and also portrayed Marius in the Toronto production of Les Misérables. His other credits include roles in Outrageous, Anything That Moves; Hello, Dolly!; Miss Saigon; The House of Martin Guerre; Anne of Green Gables; and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Howar moved to England in 2001 to star in Peggy Sue Got Married; he also appeared with fiance Henshall in The Magnificent Musicals. Howar is currently starring in Tonight's the Night at the Victoria Palace Theatre.
