Caroline's Cox, Taboo's Carlson in Lavery's Easter at MCC This Fall

Veanne Cox, Jeffrey Carlson, Clea Lewis and Florencia Lozano will star in MCC Theatre's world premiere of Bryony Lavery's Last Easter, set for a Sept. 15-Oct. 23 run at the Lucille Lortel Theatre.

Lavery's Frozen handed MCC its first Broadway credit this past season. The show transferred to Circle in the Square, where it is still playing. Tony Award nominee Doug Hughes, who staged Frozen, reteams with the scribe for the work which follows a dying woman and her best friends as they journey from London to Lourdes to bless her in the holy waters. All theatre folk, they "laugh and sing and drink a lot of wine," according to a release.

Cox, now in Broadway's Caroline, or Change, will play June, a lighting designer. Carlson, who played a drag queen in Taboo, is Gash, a singer and female impersonator. Lewis, who was in the cast of Woody Allen's Writer's Block, will be Heather, a prop maker. Lazano will play Joy, an actress. A fifth role of a stage technician, Howie, is yet to be cast.

Opening is Oct. 7.
