Light, Gross, Hunt, More Perform at Ojai Playwrights Conference, Aug. 8-15

Judith Light in Wit

Judith Light ("Who's The Boss," Wit), Michael Gross ("Family Ties," Bent), and Linda Hunt ("The Practice," Aunt Dan and Lemon) are among the actors cast in the 2004 Ojai Playwrights Conference, Aug. 8-15.

The seventh annual event — featuring readings of new works by — will play at the southern California locale.

Joining Light, Michael Gross, Linda Hunt are Orlando Jones ("The Orlando Jones Show"), Katy Selverstone ("The Drew Carey Show"), Will McCormack ("The Sopranos") and Sandra Oh ("Under The Tuscan Sun"). Also set to perform are Paul Adelstein, Karen Aldridge, John Apicella, Jane Carr, Nealla Gordon, Hamish Linklater, Leo Marks, Zach Quinto, Kevin Rahm, Bahni Turpin, John Vickery and Liza Weil.

White Bicycles by Keith Bunin and Peter Parnell (directed by Kurt Beattie), In The Continuum: An Urban Tale and Womandhla by Nikkole Salter and Danai Gurira (directed by Luis Alfaro), For Reele by Stephen Belber (directed by Michael Morris), The Little Locksmith adapted and performed by Linda Hunt (directed by Robert Egan), Dark Yellow by Julia Jordan (directed by Angus Jackson) and Map of Doubt and Rescue by Susan Miller (directed by Abigail Deser) are the selected works this year.

Set in the Ojai countryside, the conference provides a retreat-like environment away from nearby Los Angeles where the scribes work in-house on their developing plays. The intensive workshop ends with the public readings.
