Members of the cast and creative team of the Broadway musical Caroline, or Change will appear at Borders book store in the Time Warner Building on Columbus Circle in Manhattan 5 PM Aug. 10.

A CD signing of the cast album and a discussion about the new show will take place. Participants include playwright librettist Tony Kushner, composer Jeanine Tesori, actress Tonya Pinkins (who plays the title character Caroline Thibodeaux) and 2004 Tony Award-winner Anika Noni Rose (who plays daughter Emmie Thibodeaux).

Following its run at The Public Theater/New York Shakespeare Festival, Caroline, or Change began previews on Broadway on April 12 at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre, 230 W. 49th Street, and opened officially on May 2.

George C. Wolfe directs. The production will close Aug. 29.

Caroline, or Change "takes place in Louisiana in 1963, just before President Kennedy's assassination and during the Civil Rights movement. Caroline is the black maid of a Southern family, made up of a father, his new wife and the man's young son. The son's birth mother has recently died, and the stepmother is trying to establish a relationship with the child, who already has a close connection with Caroline. The title has a double meaning, referring to the myriad social changes swirling around the family and a family argument surrounding the spare change perpetually found in the boy's pants pockets."
