"Sex and the City" Star Heads Woody Harrelson Staging of This Is Our Youth in Toronto

The Woody Harrelson-directed staging of Kenneth Lonergan's This Is Our Youth, which enjoyed a run at Toronto's Berkeley Street Theatre late last year, will return to the stage with "Sex and the City" star Jason Lewis.

The Toronto run of This Is Our Youth — produced by macIDeas in association with Derrick Chua, Leron Cohen, Carolyn Newman, Corey Ross and Michael Rubinoff — will begin Sept. 2 and open Sept. 7 for a run through Oct. 2 at the Berkeley St. Theatre Downstairs space.

Harrelson will direct a cast of Jason Lewis ("Sex and the City"), Canadian actress Katharine Isabelle ("Ginger Snaps," "Cousins") and returning cast member Marcello Cabezas ("Blue Murder," "Vladeck") in the work which focuses on two days in the lives of three New York teenagers in 1982.

An Academy Award nominee for his turn as the title role in the film "The People Vs. Larry Flynt," Harrelson is also known for his on-screen work in "White Men Can’t Jump," "The Thin Red Line,""Ed TV," "Kingpin," "Natural Born Killers" and his eight year (Emmy Award-winning) stint as bartender Woody on television's "Cheers."

The actor began his acting career on Broadway in 1985 in Neil Simon's Biloxi Blues and Off-Broadway in The Boys Next Door. After finding success in Hollywood, Harrelson returned to the theatre in 1999 — directing his own play, Furthest From the Sun in Minneapolis, Minnesota's Theatre de la Juene Lune. He then appeared in the 2000 Broadway revival of N. Richard Nash's The Rainmaker, Sam Shepard's 2001 staging of his The Late Henry Moss and in the 2002 London’s West End run of John Kolvenbach's On an Average Day opposite Kyle MacLachlan.

The design team includes Michael Gianfrancesco (set), Kimberly Purtell (lighting), Dana Osborne (costumes) and Lyon Smith (sound).

Playwright Lonergan has also penned Waverly Gallery and Lobby Hero for the stage as well as the Academy Award-nominated film "You Can Count On Me."

Tickets to This Is Our Youth at The Berkeley, 26 Berkeley Street in Toronto, Ontario, can be purchased by calling (416) 368-3110. For more information, visit www.thisisouryouth.ca.
