The hotly-anticipated benefit concert of the musical Hair, to support the Actor's Fund of America, finally rocked out on Sept. 20.

The original production of Hair ran from April 29, 1968-July 1, 1972 at the old Biltmore Theatre. The show proved be a ground-breaker for future rock musicals such as The Who's Tommy and Rent.

A smashing success, the concert raised more than half a million dollars for the Actor's Fund of America.

Some of the numerous Broadway talents who participated in the concert are seen at left arriving for the after party at John's Pizzeria on West 44th Street in New York City. Among them are Julia Murney, Raul Esparza, John Tartaglia, Lillias White, and composer Galt MacDermot. Below, the cast is seen taking their curtain call led by musical director Seth Rudetsky.
